Day 6: Daintree Rainforest

1: Darren and I met up with Kelsey, Roseburg family friend who now lives in Port Douglas, for breakfast at QT. How ironic! Then we jumped on a tour bus to check out The Mossman Gorge in the Daintree Rainforest. 

2: We learned all about the Kuku Yalanji Tribe who inhabited the rainforest for over 4000 years. Yalada - Thank you, Hi, Bye. Munjai Dimbi (most prominent mountain in the forest) - Mountain holding you back. This was the area that inspired the movie, Avatar! Then after our great tour, we hiked around the rainforest in the rain... makes sense! 

3: Then we popped back to our hotel for showers and headed into town. We had a late lunch at Salsa where we had fantastic yellow tail tatake & pulled pork stuffed piquillo peppers. 

4: We proceeded to walk along 4 mile beach as the sunset, and Darren got us a happy hour cocktail in the trees! 

5: Then we walked past the beautiful Port Douglas Church and then off to our epic dinner in the rainforest at Nautilus. We had freshly caught local fish and kangaroo! Amazing food and an awesome setting!
